For the seminar and meeting rooms, see: Seminar and meetings

There are several shared rooms at LJP:

Workshop

room 412

3D printing

room 415

Discuss with Raphaël Candelier.

Optical and computer stuff storage

room 402

Storage room for paper, trolley, materials, pneumatics, cables

room 422

Laundry, Preparation room

room 503

Autoclave

The autoclave of the LJP is in this room. You need to be trained before using the autoclave (see with Nelly Henry). A list of users trained in the lab is displayed on the wall, do not hesitate to ask them for help.

chemicals products This room also contains all the chemicals products (see the tab: List of chemicals“) Before using a product, YOU MUST KNOW THE DANGERS. Everything is indicated on the safety data sheet (SDS), or Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), available on the inventory.

If you add a new chemical that was not in the list, please notify your prevention assistant with the reference and link to the product. nicolas.fix_boulier@sorbonne-universite.fr

Fatima SALHI, from IBPS, comes to work in this room on Thursdays and Fridays in order to:

i) wash the dishes

ii) autoclave eppendorf tubes and dishes

iii) bring us culture media that we have ordered (to order culture media to be prepared at the IBPS, ask Nicolas Biais or Nicolas Fix-Boulier)

Two bins under the sink are available for:

i) dirty dishes (not contaminated!)

ii) empty jars intended to fill eppendorf tubes to be autoclaved

For any deposit of dirty dishes in the tray under the sink, please:

i) rinse inside

ii) remove the labels

iii) unscrew the caps

Note: start a wash cycle if the dirty dishes container is full (do not wait for Fatima to return)

Reserve of consumables/plastics

room 504

Management by Nicolas Fix-Boulier

Please write down on the whiteboard when you have finished an item, or for any purchase suggestions.

Plan/inventory of the stockroom: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mo3Fu3yLYqMtPDZ3bvTf67lhb_aqrIZd

(see with Nicolas if the link is not working)

Some of the consumable/plastic is also stored in a room located on level -1 (S1) of tower 33 (An update of the kaba key is necessary). The material found there is only to be used in the event of a last resort (delivery problem).

Secondary stockroom inventory (tower 33, basement) : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Y3W9Vc6UDTRbcORGrCRsGlX2v0E3vKBeQ1vEeSQFZj8

(see with Nicolas if the link is not working).

Cafet

Room 502 (5th floor, near the 32 entrance)

A fridge, two micro-wave ovens, a kettle, a coffee machine.

Molecular biology and bacteriology laboratories

Room 507, 509, 511

Room 507 is a type 2 laboratory, used for the experimentation of class 2 pathogens. Only authorized persons can access it. Incubators at 30 and 37°C are available in the type 1 laboratory (room 509).

Ask Nicolas Fix-Boulier for organization, materials, etc.

The number of benches is limited, a plan has been designed to improve everyone's working comfort :

“Common” benches are intended for common use, and must be kept clean and tidy before and after each use.

“Private” benches are intended for private use, being used only by few members of the laboratory. Cleaning of these benches is not obligatory.

Biology Laboratory Users (505, 507, 509, 511)

Users of the biology laboratories (505, 507, 509, 511) need to complete a general tour of the labs (organization, awareness of hygiene and safety rules, …). If this applies to you, please contact Nicolas Fix-Boulier. Office 506 nicolas.fix_boulier@sorbonne-universite.fr
