If you want to access to articles outside of campus you may go through either UPMC or CNRS. In both cases you can go through the institutional website or make a simple javascript to connect via de journal website

For SORBONNE U

It is possible to access articles in many journals via Sorbonne, using this site : https://sorbonne-universite.primo.exlibrisgroup.com. You can login there with your sorbonne account, then search for you article.

(you need your SU password)

  • via SU website: http://www.bupmc.upmc.fr/fr/ressources_en_ligne2.html
  • via a javascript. Create a bookmark called ‘proxy SU' which html address (also called location or target) is:

javascript:var%20url;%20url=location.href;%20location.href="http://accesdistant.upmc.fr/login?url="+url

Then go to your favorite article and press the bookmark created above to connect as you were on campus.

This process works also with search engines such as www.pubmed.org or http://apps.webofknowledge.com ! Just search in pubmed via the proxy and you have access to all journal articles.

For bibCNRS

(you need a CNRS janus id/password)
Contact Marie-Nicole for getting registered in labintel. Then check: https://sesame.cnrs.fr/)

  • via bibCNRS website (although it is really bad). Our lab is registered to two services:
    • biology: https://bib.cnrs.fr/category/biology/
    • physics: https://bib.cnrs.fr/category/physics/
  • via a javascript. As before. The corresponding html adresses should be
    • biology: javascript:location.href=location.protocol+'//'+location.hostname+".insb.bib.cnrs.fr"+location.pathname;
    • physics: javascript:location.href=location.protocol+'//'+location.hostname+ ".inp.bib.cnrs.fr"+location.pathname;

Then go to your favorite article and press the bookmark created above to connect as you were on bibCNRS

List of publications and networks you can access from SU

Access is via the Libraries website, www.primo.sorbonne-universite.fr

There are many things, but you have to request access to Bu@scd.upmc.fr, saying that you are at the Jean Perrin Laboratory at Sorbonne University.

There is Europresse, which provides access to hundreds of news newspapers from around the world, including Le Monde, l'Équipe, the New York Times, etc. Access either with a PDF reader (of poor quality), or to the article by pasting the title of the article in the search bar (and not the URL).
There is also access to videos from Metropolitan Opera on Demand, Naxos Music Library (classical music), Philarmonie de Paris concerts, etc.
