Lab installation (informatics)
There is a strict status difference between interns and others:
- Interns do not get any IT credentials (no email address, no cloud subscription, no mailing-list). However, they can use the Cloud account called “stagiaire”. And they are invited to sign up for the mailing-list for seminar announcements.
- Others get everything, and they need to follow the instructions below.
Information systems safety charter and LJP tool suite
Every user wishing to use the information and communication systems of the lab has to sign the laboratory ISSC. It encompasses:
- The CNRS ISS charter (for ALL the people in the lab)
- Other commitments internal to the LJP.
After being signed, this document should be scanned into a single-page pdf file, with filename FIRSTNAME_NAME.pdf, and sent to the CSSI (raphael.candelier@upmc.fr).
Then, the CSSI will give access to the LJP tool suite, that comprises:
- LJP mailing-list ljp@listes.upmc.fr(general communication for the lab, weekly seminars)
- Permanent staff mailing-list ljp-perm@listes.upmc.fr (for permanent staff only)
For everyone but interns and non-permanents paid by CNRS
Getting registered to the “annuaire” is easy and fast. You'll get an email about that when you arrive. It is unclear how to get an email address. If you haven't received about it after a couple of days, you can contact the IT Hotline.
Once your e-mail address works, you can sign in here:
To connect a mail client (for instance thunderbird), settings are:
- IMAP courriel.upmc.fr SSL/TLS port 993
- SMTP smtps.upmc.fr SSL/TLS port 465
For non-permanents paid by CNRS
(2019) Ask the ‘référent annuaire’ (Malika) to add you to the UPMC/SU annuaire and provide you with a password
LJP tools
Here are the tools set up by the LJP:
- LJP mailing-list (lab internal communication, general announcements, weekly seminars)
- Permanent members of LJP mailing-list
Mailing-list for non-permanents?
LJP Mailing list
After you get your SU email address, you will be added to the LJP mailing list. This list is used for lab-wide communication and general announcements, such as for the weekly seminar.
Interns, since you will not be added to this list, please sign up to the seminar announcement list: http://www.labos.upmc.fr/ljp/?agenda# (top of the page)

Compte Janus (CNRS)
To have access to your Janus account, you need to generate a password on https://sesame.cnrs.fr/. Enter your Janus ID (yourname@courriel.upmc.fr). If it says “The information provided does not allow you to continue”, you are not in RESEDA list. Ask Malika.
